St Mary Magdalene Church, Kilmyshall

St. Mary Magdalene Church, Kilmyshall was built in 1831. The architect Richard Pierce from Wexford, designed the Church. The Church is a large barn-type building with Gothic Georgian-style plain glass windows. These were replaced in 2003 with windows of identical pattern. The Church has recently been refurbished, and a new  marble tabernacle and marble ambo has been added and the Church has also been repainted and new lighting installed.
The Parish is served by our Priest Fr. Pat Duffy and the parish Council, whose aim is to build up a faith and caring community. It is our hope that our website will not only be informative, but will contribute to uniting all who live here and to help build up a community that is caring and willing to share their time and talents for the benefit of their parish community.

Charity Heart to Hand

The Charity Heart to Hand are making their annual appeal for the people of Albania. With the coming of winter and the extremely low temperatures experienced there the poor will suffer greatly. The supplies which Heart to Hand bring out are given to directly into the hands of people who need it most. This year, as well as the usual canned foods, baby food and dried and imperishable foods, the charity is collecting items such as socks, underwear, runners, and shirts. All these items of clothing must be new. Any items donated may be left in the Parish Office Kilmyshall and will be collected by the members of Heart to Hand in the first week of Nov. or contact Kieran Byrne, The Charity Co- ordinator at Ph. 0402/37260 Mob. 087/2745570087/2745570 Email kieranbyrne1@gmail.com. Is God calling you to priesthood or religious life?

The Lord takes the initiative, but it is in and through time, people and circumstances that the awareness of the Call is sharpened and clarified. A Vocations Weekend is one of these events. to this end we have arranged the following:

Ballyvaloo November 4th/5th, one night, €80 per person.
                Registration 4:00 – 6:00pm 4th November
                supper served 6:00pm
Conclusion after lunch on 5th November

Pope Francis experienced himself, personally, this tension between being called by the Lord and being advised to wait. ‘This is an initiative which the Lord takes. The Lord calls. He calls each of those whom he wills to become priests’.

The story of a vocation by Jorge Mario Bergoglio.

It is the most important and for-reaching choice you will ever make.

If you feel called to priesthood or religious life, don’t be afraid, to take that step and get in touch with your local Vocations Director.
